After working non-stop for 12 months, I decided I needed a holiday. I started to search options that suited my personal interests. Then the "recession" hit. Oil prices up, fuel prices up, house prices down, credit card interests rates up . . .
Where to go?
I then read an article in the New York Times discussing what other people were doing for their holidays in this lousy economic climate. Some were forgoing their 5-Star holidays at luxury resorts for lower cost options.
Others were opting for camping holidays even though they were not really into the outdoors scene! And yet others were having local holidays -- taking a short break but going to a luxury hotel spa nearby, eating at top restaurants and the like to give them the feeling of being away on "holiday." But it's not really the same is it?
Even it we are able to search the Internet for last minute options on cheap or cheaper accommodation, does that outcome really meet our needs? I mean, heck, a holiday is supposed to be more than just getting away isn't it?

Surely it's about having a fantastic time, enjoying the special ambience of a top-class resort or spa, dining in some different state, or country to thrill the taste buds with novel new foods. Right?
Even if you can find a great holiday resort for a price you can afford, how do you get there? Fly, expensive and getting more so with charges for your baggage. After some snooping and detective work, I found a group that brings the buying power of its thousands of members to the travel and holiday sector. And this is not for the businesses themselves (that is not a travel agent) but for its members. Through their membership they have been able to negotiate deals for you on luxury accommodation all over the world and, better still, discounts with airlines you can actually get to the place you want to visit.
It gets better still. They have also negotiated arrangements so if something happens and you have to cancel, you don't lose your money; you get a full refund (no cancellation fees!). The business will also provide access to zero percent (0 percent) financing up between $1,000 and 5,000.
And I have saved the best for last. You can actually earn money by alerting your friends, colleagues to this great travel concept.
